Enable account to send SMS to other countries by editing your Geo Permission

Updated over a year ago

By default Twilio accounts can only send to the country where the account owner has as their home country. In order to message other countries you will need to edit your account's SMS Geo Permissions to enable delivery to those destinations. Please note that we do recommend only enabling countries where you expect to deliver to in order to help prevent potential issues with SMS pumping fraud.

To edit your Geo Permissions, log onto your account and click 'Explore Products' on the left navigation bar:

Then select 'Messaging':

Now you will select 'Settings --> Geo permissions'

On the page that loads, all you will need to do to enable delivery to a country is to toggle the 'checkbox' next to it.

Now your account is enabled to send SMS to other countries.
