This guide will walk you through how to manage your member portal categories using our new Portal 3.0!

Updated over 3 months ago

Modules

Modules are the types of content you are able to post on your member portal. Here are the different Modules available:

  • Blogs (Content)

  • Events (Events & Promotions)

  • Dining (Directory Location)

  • Spa (Directory Location)

  • Appointments (Directory Location)

  • Activities (Directory Location)

  • Workspaces (Directory Location)

  • Staff Directory (Directory Location)

  • Club Benefits (Directory Location)

Categories

Categories are used by your team to segment content/experiences and used by your members to narrow down content. They help you organize large datasets, such as your event programming, blogs or posts, into manageable subsets. This enhances your member experience by simplifying decision making, improving efficiency, and enhancing discoverability.

Subcategory

Subcategories work alongside category filters to create a seamless, user-centered experience, enabling precise content exploration while maintaining simplicity.

Each Subcategory requires three primary settings:

  1. Specific Component

    1. For all pages, set the component to "Directory Location" EXCEPT: Blogs, Events.

    2. For Blogs - component should be "Content"

    3. For Events - component should be set to "Events & Promotions"

  2. Parent Category

    1. Blog page - parent category="My Club" or "Blogs"

    2. Dining page - parent category="Restaurants"

    3. Events page - parent category="Events & Promotions"

    4. Club Benefits page - parent category="Club Benefits"

    5. Rooms page - parent category="Meeting Rooms"

    6. Appointments page - parent category="Appointments"

    7. Spa & Wellness page - parent category="Spa & Wellness"

    8. Directory page - parent category="Club Directory"

  1. Order - The order setting allows you to set the order in which the Subcategories are displayed (left to right).

EXAMPLE:

Fine Dining (Restaurants) - Fine Dining is the Subcategory and Restaurants is the Parent

The 'Members Dining' and 'Dining Room' Directory Card lives in the restaurants/reservations module (Titled Dining) under the "Fine Dining" subcategory.

How to Create a New Category

You're not able to amend the navigation menu, which is located on the left side of your member portal. If you'd like to change the titles of any of the navigation-menu items, or reorder them, please let us know.

Each of the navigation-menu items is tied to a specific engine β€” i.e., it's created for a specific purpose β€” and while it can be renamed, it cannot be repurposed. Nor is it possible to add additional items to the navigation menu.
