Customize the Subscription Messaging Experience

We'll show you how you can custom the emails that go out when someone succeeds or fails at billing.

You have the ability to introduce custom e-mails to be delivered upon the following actions:

  • Membership or Loyalty Card is set to Active (membershipActive) - this will send out when a membership, that is not associated with a service billing.

  • Membership is Subscribed to (membershiptx) - this will send when a billable membership is subscribed to.

  • Service is Subscribed to (servicetx) - this will send when a person activates a subscription (not associated with a membership). 

  • Membership is Renewed (membershiptx_renewed) - this will send out as soon as a membership is renewed.  It will replace the default out of the box email.

  • Service Subscription is Renewed (servicetx_renewed) - this will send out as soon as a service subscription (not associated with a membership) is renewed.  It will replace the default out of the box email.

  • Membership Fails Billing (membership_failed) - this will send out as soon as a membership fails billing.  It will replace the default out of the box email.

  • Membership Fails Billing (service_failed) - this will send out as soon as a service subscription (not associated with a membership) fails billing.  It will replace the default out of the box email.

  • Subscription fails due to no billing method on file (billing_method) - this will send to any subscription that doesn't have a payment method on file.

  • Subscription successfully invoiced (billing-invoiced) - this will allow you to send a different message to those that are invoiced vs. charged.

  • Membership is Cancelled (membership_cancelled) - this will send when a membership is cancelled either as it happens or on the requested cancellation date.

  • Subscription is Cancelled (service_cancelled) - this will send when a subscription (not associated with a membership) is cancelled either as it happens or on the requested cancellation date.

  • Member Checks In (membershipscan) - this will send when a member checks in by scanning their ID or clicking check-in.


Go to an Email or SMS under Notifications to schedule when to send.  You will find additional options associated with memberships and subscriptions.
